Application Name: FitMix


1. Overview

FitMix is a web application designed to help fitness instructors and individuals create, customize, and time music playlists optimized for workout classes. With direct Spotify integration, time marker customization, and AI-powered playlist generation, FitMix streamlines the process of building dynamic and effective music experiences for fitness sessions.


2. Goals and Objectives

  • Goal: Empower fitness professionals and enthusiasts to enhance workout experiences with personalized and perfectly timed playlists.
  • Objectives:
    • Integrate seamlessly with Spotify to import and manage tracks/playlists.
    • Enable users to add time markers for better workout pacing and transitions.
    • Use AI to generate playlists based on workout type, energy, theme, and RPM.

8. User Flows

  1. Login Flow:

    • User selects "Login with Spotify" → Authorizes app → Redirected back to FitMix dashboard
  2. Playlist Creation Flow:

    • Choose “Create Playlist” → Select workout type/theme → AI generates playlist → User reviews/edit tracks → Add time markers → Save/export playlist
  3. Editing Existing Playlist:

    • View accessible playlists → Select one → Edit track order or time markers → Save changes

9. User Interface Design

  • Landing Page:
    “Get Started with Spotify” primary button; secondary “Learn More” link

  • Dashboard:
    List of personal playlists, with options to create, edit, or delete

  • Playlist Editor:
    Track list, drag-to-reorder, add/edit/remove time marker UI, AI recommendation button

  • Export/Share Modal:
    Buttons to export to Spotify or copy shareable link


10. Acceptance Criteria

  • Users can authenticate with Spotify and see their music library.
  • Users can create playlists with at least one song using AI suggestions.
  • Users can add, edit, and remove time markers for each track.
  • Saving, exporting to Spotify, and sharing are functional.
  • Application operates reliably on major browsers and devices.
