I thought about this problem when working on this PR:
exercism/rust#2114 (comment)

If there are breaking changes in these libraries, we might update them without realizing that we're breaking a lot of solutions. Supporting multiple versions of the same library works fine:

time = "0.3.44"
time_0_2 = { version = "0.2", package = "time" }

So we can use that pattern if these crates receive breaking changes in the future.
