Overview

SteamOS Shell replaces the Windows Explorer shell with Steam Big Picture, turning your PC into a living-room console experience.
When Steam exits, the user session logs out automatically (~10 seconds later) for a clean reset.

➡️ Grab the installer from the Assets section below:
SteamOS-Shell-1.0.0.exe

📦 Installation

  1. Run the installer.
  2. Pick your Steam folder (displayed on the Ready page).
  3. Click Install → reboot/sign out.
  4. Windows now boots straight into Steam Big Picture.

↩️ Uninstallation

  • Settings → Apps → Installed apps → SteamOS Shell → Uninstall, or
  • Start Menu → SteamOS Shell → Uninstall

Uninstall restores Explorer as the Windows shell.
