You’d probably want to use alphas or so instead of dev, e.g. you could name the tag v0.7.0a0 (or equivalently v0.7a0): https://packaging.python.org/en/latest/specifications/version-specifiers/#summary-of-permitted-suffixes-and-relative-ordering
