Is OAuth support slated for the new release

As cookie based login is going to deprecated in the next few months is OAuth support slated anytime soon? I've seen a few branches though all are fairly old and none have been merged so is the feature been put on the back burner?

I went and found the exact date it seems Reddit requires OAuth support by the end of March 2016 and will discontinue cookie based login.
