Kernel 6.12.10-76061203-generic Bluetooth stops working after suspend

Upgraded to 24.04 COSMIC Alpha 5

I tried modprobe -r a bunch of modules and re-adding them but that didn't work. I also attempted many things noted in the Arch wiki.

I had no Bluetooth problems with 22.04.

Not sure yet if it reliably reproduces. I will report back.

Greetings, I got the same issue in alpha 6.
When happens this temporary fixes it:

sudo rmmod btusb
sudo modprobe btusb

However the bluetooth applet will be still in the disabled state, while the bluetooth settings in COSMIC Settings are showing the real status.

I don't think the kernel is a problem, or the Pop_Os version is a problem.
I don't have this problem, but it's also true that I have BlueZ at version 5.82

Run bluetoothctl --version to know the version

UPDATE: I found a possibly relevant issue in the BlueZ github.
Maybe it's a firmware problem, after all.

I found a workaround today.

More context around the problem

Hardware: ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11

My dmesg logs would be spammed with these lines continually (with the device number incrementing):

Module unloading/reloading didn't work.

rfkill was not blocking.

Workaround

Find the USB3 controller:

Here, USB 3 is at address 00:14.0.

unbind/bind the hardware to reset it (use the right address):

Bluetooth works!

Note that every USB device will be reset while doing so. Make sure it is safe to do.
