Bone based mob heads

I'd like for mobs to "look" at the player by moving their heads facing the player, looking like how the playeranim mod moves a player's head.

The problem is, that this needs a second entity, so this would nearly use twice resources as now.
To implement this we need an improved CSM API to add the second entity only client-sided.

But we'll also need the CSM sever download functionality in the core engine, so not everyone has to install our CSMod to play on CME servers.

You don't need a second entity for this. The entity API allows manipulating the individual bones within a model. This is how player_anim works.

But I agree that CSM could play an improved role in doing the bone manipulation and could better track the player position.

Any CSM related solution is, I've learned, perhaps years away still. So let's rely on good old server side modding if building this.
