Trying to update "main" zone address

Hi there,

with little to no Go experience I'm trying to update many domains using libdns/autodns with internetX at once.

But there seems no easy way to update the main zone address (struct seems here: types.go#L168 using the provided methods.

Do you have any advice or example for me, please, how to achieve this?

creating/updating/deleting "usual" records works flawlessly.

@ftrojahn I think currently, we focus on the records — so setting this address is probably hidden somewhere deep in the calls. Can you tell me when this is necessary? I personally haven't had the need yet, but it would help me think about this a little.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, here's what I tried:

• setting the domain A record via api to 37.120.182.202 .. worked
• (could have set www domain A record, too, but there is this switch named "WWW-Einträge inkludieren" ...)
• but the result is:

Oh, now I know what you mean.

Are you able to extract the zone from the API with that enabled? The raw json would be nice, how that looks like.

I am not sure if there's another property in the response. But we can try to improve this.

I see wwwInclude - I had already added it to the struct, so with that enabled we should create a www record and on the way back condense it back.

And the main.address should be taken into account as well.

That should render another A and condense/fold it when records are updated.

Kinda annoying but should be possible to write a test for that. 😁

Yes, I have experimented a little bit with another tool named "autodns-cli", but this did change the wrong records
(e.g. MX instead of A record), so cannot use. But it was able to export the json files.

I cannot provide a new export, but here is the export from yesterday.

Main Address:

• used for the root domain (A)
• optional also for www when www-include is checked

Can www-include exist without it? I think it cannot.

Well, it can ... dunno why, but just today when changing lots of domains I've seen one
that has no address (just showing a grayed out IP 62.116.159.59 which dns does not give back when asked).

Trying to figure out if we should do magic and create records from this and fold them or provide an alternative way to update main address. Haven't had a lot of time this weekend but I am working on it.

I think the easiest way is using the struct yourself for now. Trying to figure out what the best way is to do this or how I can open the API a bit.
