Scripts that immediately exit get "shell" title

The WM adds a `Press any key` prompt when a script immediately exits so that the user can read its output. When this occurs, the window is given a title of `shell` as a result of the program being wrapped in a `shell` command. Would it be possible to eliminate this extra wrapper and set up the shell environment directly instead?
