Issues with script running

i share your statement that TB is sucks in terms of automation and always try to pull as much money as they can. e.g stupid VIP options. hate it.
so finding you script was, really rally nice. as of now most of my improvement into game are macro recording / playing back in iterations
but to the point

• crypt.py. i put cmd and game window side by side, i've precondition set and have Carter as one and only captain, zoom se to 125%. in cmd I run command py crypt.py -t common, but on window with game i see that only actions that are happening are click watchtower, select crypts and arenas,
  random crypt is selected, watchtower disappear and on center of screen there is selected crypt, but carter does not run there. maybe you can advise what I'm doing wrong. maybe i can record quick video how does it look on my comp
• login.py & troops.py - can you share examples of json file expected by script (/sample directory does not contain this)

my city in TB is: K143, X649 Y395 Nick: jaro

Someone else also told me this. It's possible the images are rendered slightly differently on other OSs so the pattern matching fails. It's looking for these: https://github.com/hettoo/tba/tree/main/samples/crypts
You could try replacing some of those with your own screenshot cuts.
The other option is to play with this line

a = Automator()

and make it Automator(threshold = ?) for ? some value above 0.054 (the default), which loosens it. It may get too loose on other samples though and click the wrong stuff :p

I'm on holidays atm so can't give samples. I think the troops json is just an object with keys the names of the samples in samples/units and the values the number to assign to each type

So i tried with crypt.py as you suggested i render in /sample directory my own image - just one - ice.png. but still script behave same way. I recorded how does it look. https://youtu.be/yzrkoxVAb9c , maybe that will help to see what is wrong, i tried both in browser i use firefox , and installed windows app. I'm also wondering if that is not case of resolution.

I'm not entire sure, what you meant by Automator(threshold, ) .... sorry i'm not python programmer.
i set in line 83 crypt.py a = Automator(0.6) but it didnot change anything

I reckon the login one was just username and password

so I've created json like this but

i've replaced email.png, next.png and login_next.png in /samples

ps. during my tests, it happened that it typed login, and password (but i don;t know why) but most of the time it behave link in attached link

I play around with troops.py. in case of this script, once i've composed json file, script started to work. :)
however .... it's put values a bit slow. i tried with scrolling screen while script runs but then than it skips some units.

Hi hettoo, Hope your vacations were fine. Did you have a chance to look into above. personally i think you did a great work and i can't wait stat use your scripts entirely . a the moment i use troops.py almost everyday and I'd love to schedule my logging and crypting so automation would run without my presence in front of computer :)

btw, just realized that https://totalcalculator.org is also created by you, that is also brilliant tools. Great job - thanks.

Thanks. The template recognition is just very finicky I think, though it's odd there are no issues with the troop selection. The videos don't really add anything. If you can send a lossless screenshot (just the full screen in png) of what one/some of the crypts for instance that aren't getting clicked on look like over there I can see if I can tweak it

Hmm, so I tested the recognition as it runs it against the screenshots and that seems to be well within the margins.

One thing I realised now is that before clicking on a crypt it moves the cursor to the TB logo at the top of the screen by looking for samples/logo.png, in order to avoid having the cursor on top of the crypt image when it looks for that. In the first video you posted this isn't there because I guess you were using the desktop app. You did mention you tried it on Firefox as well, right? Could you just check the logo is clearly visible? The screenshots above seem to be cut, so I can't see if it was there.

If it is some issue with the logo, it should start working if you remove these three lines

    if not a.await_samples("logo", 2):
        return False
    a.move()

(There are two instances of this - try removing both.)
Ideally though it would just work with the logo routine. Note the scripts are meant to be run from the browser, also so that it can recover from issues by refreshing the page.

Bingo, your suggestion with "logo" solve the issues. So first return to firefox, replaced ordinal logo.png with one i render, and carter started to run to crypts. Than when i tried with my regular setup (meaning desktop app) i spotted that desktop app does not contain logo at top of screen :), i remove the suggested lines did a trick for desktop app. you are great.

additional practical question,

• is there any way to selectively run to wanted crypts in category. what i mean, i would like to skip crypts like cog, grotto, lava. i've replaced original crypt render with a dummy one - and looks that carter is not sent to those, but after few runs to valid crypts, in wachtower i got only those which i just wanna skip, so script is looping,

Glad it worked! Out of curiosity, could you send me the logo as it appears for you? I was expecting this to be the same for everyone, as it's just part of the generic web interface. I'm thinking now I need to pick another neutral element, but the obvious choice of the dashboard at the bottom gets subjected to skins during special events.

Just note the crypting script will periodically try to refresh even if nothing is wrong (because the game tends to slow down due to memory leaks etc) and that will get you stuck if you use the desktop app. You could remove the branch here

but I would recommend just sticking with the browser.

Indeed if you try to restrict the crypts you'll end up with the excluded crypts flooding your watchtower, and there is no functionality to scroll in the watchtower at the moment, so that doesn't work. The main use case is just for burning a lot of tar.
