The Core Problem: Ambiguous Schemas

For the MCP server to safely and reliably use a tool, it must know the exact data type for each of the tool's parameters. This definition is called a schema.

The schema answers critical questions for the server:

• Is a parameter a string, a number, or a boolean?
• Is it a list? If so, a list of what?
• Is the parameter required or optional?

The root cause of this issue is the use of the List[Any] type hint for several function parameters. In Python, Any is too generic for the MCP server to build a reliable schema, as it provides no specific information about the expected data type. The server correctly flags this as a "missing type."
