Description
Hello,
I would like to suggest a potential enhancement for GLKVM Virtual Media:
Currently, when mounting Virtual Media (USB Mass Storage), the device is always identified on the host as GLKVM / GL.iNet.
In certain enterprise or security-sensitive environments, having the option to choose a generic USB identifier for Virtual Media could improve compatibility:
- Systems with strict USB identifiers lists
- Software that flags non-generic USB storage devices
Suggested feature:
- An option to customize or select the USB identifier (Vendor ID / Product ID) for Virtual Media
- Optionally allow a choice between:
- “GLKVM identifiable mode” (current behavior)
- “Generic USB Mass Storage mode”
This is just a suggestion, and I fully understand that it can be considered or implemented at your convenience.
I appreciate your time and effort on GLKVM development.
Thank you!
