Feature request: Tool to remove ANSI terminal escape sequences #2142

Is your feature request related to a problem?
Sometimes, I have to read files that contain Terminal escape sequences (ANSI codes such as colors escape sequences) and it makes the file hard to read by a human or parse by a machine.

A tool to clean up all the ANSI escape sequences in a blob of text would be really handy.
