we're seeing this error when couchbase is loaded from a webpack bundle:

We're building a Node.js bundle (webpack target: 'node') that imports couchbase. At runtime, when the bundle loads couchbase, the native module loader (scripts/prebuilds.js resolvePrebuild function) cannot locate the platform-specific binary package (@couchbase/couchbase-darwin-arm64-napi).

The native binary is installed and works when loaded directly, but when loaded from within the webpack bundle, the module resolution paths are different and the loader fails. The error includes webpack=true because the loader detects webpack context, but the core issue is the native build resolution failing in bundle context.

Is this a known limitation, or should the native module loader handle webpack bundle contexts correctly?

Hi @ShashankRahatekar -- I don't think there is a limitation from the perspective of the SDK. While I know there have been instances of users deploying the SDK for the "front-end" I don't think it is a common use case. I think what it will come down to is how webpack has been configured. It needs to be able to pick up the SDK's addon. Have you looked into the node-loader?
