React 19

This package appears to work fine in react 19, but the package.json says it only works up to react 18 which is blocking us from upgrading unless we do an npm i --force on this package. Any chance you could fix that in the package.json>

To resolve this issue properly without having to use npm install --force, you can follow one of two approaches depending on whether:

✅ You maintain the package (i.e. it’s your code)

Update the peerDependencies in the package.json of the package itself:

  "react": "^17.0.0 || ^18.0.0 || ^19.0.0",
  "react-dom": "^17.0.0 || ^18.0.0 || ^19.0.0"
}

Then:

1. Run npm version patch
2. Run npm publish

This will:

• Indicate official React 19 support
• Let others upgrade without --force

Use an override to bypass the peer dependency restriction safely:

If you're using npm v8+:

Then run:

npm install

This lets you use the package with React 19 without modifying node_modules or needing --force.

If you need a quick hack (not ideal for long-term):

1. Install [patch-package](https://www.npmjs.com/package/patch-package)

2. Go to node_modules/the-package/package.json

3. Update the peerDependencies to allow React 19

4. Run:

   npx patch-package the-package

5. Add "postinstall": "patch-package" to your scripts
