Introducing discussions for the server

Hey guys! I'm very glad to announce that we have been permitted to enable GitHub's new "discussions" feature because it has been released as a public beta for users to demo.

Over three years ago we hosted long-term discussions using our forum, but this has since been discontinued due to the general maintenance necessary for a spiffy forum, and the overall increase in cost that was experienced after the forum had been introduced.

Our discussions board will allow for members of the server to ask questions and engage with the entire server in a lasting way that isn't currently possible on the guild without having to turn to a forum-based solution. I think it'll be a great fit for this community and that it will serve us well going into the future! :)

I recommend that you read GitHub's community guidelines if you have not been exposed to this site before. Needless to say, our rules still apply to this board, just as they would apply to the guild or any platform which aims to talk about the server.
