There are use cases where I want to use the sign-in system without bringing the physical hardware--maybe even at the same time as a regular meeting. The software can run on a Windows laptop for off-site events, but then the database needs to be copied onto the Pi afterward to keep it up to date. Worse, if we had an outreach event or something happening simultaneously with a regular meeting, there would be two coincident sessions going on and a manual database merge would be necessary to get back into a consistent state. This feature should support automatically keeping two or more instances of the software in sync without manual intervention or breaking offline functionality for locations without internet access.
