[Feature request] double the size of the cache when new file is too big

Proposal

Provide 2 policies for dealing with new files that don't fit in the cache:

• Strict: where least recently cached files get deleted, until enough space is found
• Scaling: where the size of the cache is increased, until enough space is found.
