Pro Trial For Only Pro (seriously) ?

Hello Windsurf team,

I’m extremely disappointed by your recent decision to lock the Pro Trial exclusively behind Pro accounts. This change feels completely counter-intuitive: what’s the point of a “trial” if only paying users can access it?

The whole purpose of a trial is to let users evaluate the product before committing. Removing this possibility makes the feature useless and creates frustration for long-time users like me who relied on it to test features before upgrading.

I strongly ask you to reconsider this decision. Right now, it genuinely feels like you’re removing value instead of adding it.

I wonder how many days Windsurf can survive by limiting the free trial exclusively for paid users. Google introduced Google Antigravity today (18th Nov) and it allows to use Claude sonnet 4.5 and other models for free(may be with a rate limit, but resets ) like windsurf did before. Pricing could change in the future, but at least it's offering claude sonnet. U can try this

If Windsurf doesn't roll back to their previous pricing plan which allowed free trial for free users, they will experience a huge landslide of users after a couple of weeks.

I just noted it has even removed Deepseek V3 and R3 too, which they provided free without a credit consumption previously 🫡🫡🫡
