Touch input can freeze in exclusive mode

Describe the bug
blight-client will sometimes stop handling touch input for a while when the app is in exclusive mode

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Run xochitl
2. Start drawing an interacting with a document
3. Touch input will freeze for a while

Expected behavior
Touch input should not freeze.
